01.
Condensation
Condensation happens when warm air collides with cold surfaces, or when there’s too much humidity in your home or building. When warm air comes into contact with a cooler surface, it cools down quickly and releases water, which turns into liquid droplets on the cold surface, known as condensation. We have state of the art equipment that can alleviate these problems
02.
Damp
Dampness in a property looks unsightly and can be a health risk. It should be treated with urgency. The most common form of damp can be caused by poor heating and ventilation and can occur when you are cooking which can raise the humidity level. This humid air condenses on cold surfaces, such as windows and walls, causing dampness. If left untreated, damp can pose a number of risks including structural decay in timber, damaging plaster and corrosion. Not just looking unsightly, it can even affect people’s health and can be especially dangerous for anyone with asthma and respiratory problems.
03.
Dry Rot
If left untreated, timber problems can cause structural damage to your property.
Dry rot is the most serious form of fungal decay as it attacks the timber in buildings and occurs when moisture, airborne spores come into contact with damp timber that has a moisture content of over 14%. It does not need moisture to spread as it generates moisture through the digestion of the timber.
We remove the affected timbers and replace them with pre-treated timber. Any remaining timbers which are at risk of being affected by dry rot are also treated with an effective fungicide. Where the dry rot has passed through the masonry, we isolate it using physical containment and/or masonry sterilisation. Every attack of dry rot has to be taken on its merits and treated appropriately.
04.
Mould
Mould, like dampness is unsightly and is caused by a high level of moisture in the air, known as humidity. Mould starts to grow on a surface once it’s been wet for over 24 hours, and can be a sign that your property has a problem with damp! Mould moves through the air as tiny microscope spores that settle in damp areas in search of an ideal breeding ground, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms, both of which are prone to mould growth due to the amount of moisture in these areas. It is not healthy to sleep in a room with mould and mildew and any kind of exposure is something to worry about, especially if the mould is inside your bedroom. We have proven ways of eradicating any mould issues you may have.
05.
Penetrating damp
Penetrating damp happens in a building where there is a leak or structural issue that allows rain and water to enter the underlying layer. The leak could be caused by holes in the roof, missing roof tiles, cracks in the wall, poorly maintained pointing or even badly fitting doors and windows. Exterior high ground level can also pose a problem.
06.
Wet Rot
If left untreated, timber treatments can cause structural damage to your property. Wet Rot is caused by moisture being absorbed into timbers and is present over a long period of time. It is usually caused by water ingress from leaking tiles or leaking pipes etc. causes the timber to soften. It does not spread like dry rot, however if left untreated could still cause structural damage. We inspect the area that is affected by wet rot and clear the rotting wood, then bespoke treatments are carried out depending on the requirements.
07.
